Today’s Featured Music From Ghana

Ghanaian music from the Northern Region is gaining more grounds everyday and it’s great that these artists are able to project culture through modern music. I particularly like these videos because they are not over the top with cars, types of cigarette they’re smoking, half-naked female models, type of champagne they drinking, etc. Instead these 2 videos focus on repping tradition and depict normal surroundings in Tamale, which is reality. The lyrics do not marginalize women either, it does the opposite. Ghanaian Song of The Week (in Dagbani): Don Sigli – Dicheko Bang

Yes, I know I have been MIA for a while. It’s been a packed couple of months, however, since I want to keep this blog alive, I’ll start posting weekly on topics that don’t require much writing, at least till I’m able to free up some time to blog frequently. I come from Ghana and there are several ethic groups in Ghana (over a 100 to be exact), and as a result I’m a Dagomba! Dagombas are an ethnic group of the Kingdom of Dagbon (mainly in the Northern Region of Ghana) in the sparse savanna region below the sahelian belt, known as ...

New Music (Beat) : Aim High

aim high instrumental

Hello! It’s been a while. I have new music to share with you. I made this beat on the bus to visit my grandmother in Tamale a couple of months back. I love making music whenever I find the time. I also sometimes sing and write. Just started trying out beat making. My colleagues at work are incredibly amazing and play the piano and guitar. We usually have freestyle jamming sessions, and you can say I’ve been inspired to pick up a new hobby. The beat is chill and relaxing. Let me know if you use the beat for anything awesome ...

Free instrumental : The Slow ‘Bug’ Crusher

I am still learning how to make beats and I have noticed I like slow and classical sounding ones with a pop/hip hop/rock flare to it. There is still a lot to figure out, and while I was stressed fixing a bug, I decided to do something relaxing while thinking about the solution, so I made this beat. They are continuous bars and with change in tempo once in a while. Nothing fancy, but I think it is quiet relaxing. Feel free to use it however and let me know what you think. I will be updating this blog with new ...

My Top 40 favourite Songs of 2013

Music Music Music! We all love listening to music. Music is a great way for me to forget about everything and concentrate on being happy and worry about nothing and live in the moment. Music heals and it’s definitely an important piece in my life. I listen to a lot of genres, any music that sounds good and delivers a good message is okay for me, eventhough sometimes the lyrics just don’t make sense and I probably enjoy such music because of the instrumentals and mixing. Without further or do, in no particular order, here is my top 30 favourite ...

I love watching series and honestly they are all american. I can’t blame them for making good series.  Here is a list of series I look forward to every week. Some of the series I love to watch are not shown anymore,  but I still love them and enjoy them as much as I love those still running. Modern Family ( This show is great, but somehow I wish there was a black family, that will make it perfect. It will be a great way for everyone to relate to the characters. I hope that happens sometime soon 🙂 )  The ...

My Favourite Videos Of The Week

It is quite funny that the title of the post is ‘my favourite videos of week’. I hardly watch videos during the week and I spend every Saturday, catching up, watching youtube videos, doing some personal work, updating my blog, and picking a ‘trotro’ to Adum and back without doing anything there. It’s all an attempt to get out a little and let loose. I never really realize how boring my life is till someone ask what I do during the weekends. But you know, who needs extra fun when you’ve got YouTube, thank you Chad Hurley, Jawed Karim and ...
