My Top 10 Favourite TV Series of 2013

I love watching series and honestly they are all american. I can’t blame them for making good series.  Here is a list of series I look forward to every week. Some of the series I love to watch are not shown anymore,  but I still love them and enjoy them as much as I love those still running. Modern Family ( This show is great, but somehow I wish there was a black family, that will make it perfect. It will be a great way for everyone to relate to the characters. I hope that happens sometime soon 🙂 )  The ...

My Top 10 Favourite Must Have Linux Apps

I love the Linux operating system. It is the best and I have tried so many distributions and I have finally settled on one I like, Ubuntu 12.04. I was never a huge fan of linux and I disliked the look and feel. I was comfortable with using windows and I wasn’t interested using another OS. However, it sounded cool to be a linux user and so I partitioned my drive and installed linux on it. I never really used it and brought it up during geeky conversations to sound cool :), don’t judge me! I am a huge fan ...

National service is 6 months right? so I guess I have until March to do that. I might register this Month so ...

20 Random Quotes That Will Inspire You

20

Hello guys! I love reading random stuff on the web, and I have been reading a lot of inspirational quotes. I came across a lot that inspired me and I wanted to share 20 of those quotes. I will probably do a weekly sharing of random quotes along the way. I do not own these quotes and each quote indicates the author. In no particular order, here are 20 random quotes I found on the web. “Everything you can imagine is real.” ― Pablo Picasso “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”  ― Dr. Seuss “Let yourself be open ...

I was however excited about the opportunity and couldn’t wait to contribute to such an awesome program. I am from Tamale and lived there till i was 14. i couldn’t wait to volunteer and see my Grandma as ...

So You Bought An App?

I had never owned a Smart Device till now. And in February this year I installed Bluestacks  App Player for windows ( by then I was more into Windows than Linux ). Bluestacks  App Player allows you to operate in an android-like environment in the player. You can install android apps in bluestacks and it works great. I installed a couple of free apps like WatsApp and some word games. I bought my first app on bluestacks. I loved the game ‘Field Runners HD’ and decided to purchase it for $1.99. I felt great after my first app purchase, but a couple ...

My Favourite Videos Of The Week

It is quite funny that the title of the post is ‘my favourite videos of week’. I hardly watch videos during the week and I spend every Saturday, catching up, watching youtube videos, doing some personal work, updating my blog, and picking a ‘trotro’ to Adum and back without doing anything there. It’s all an attempt to get out a little and let loose. I never really realize how boring my life is till someone ask what I do during the weekends. But you know, who needs extra fun when you’ve got YouTube, thank you Chad Hurley, Jawed Karim and ...

Tech Needs Girls : The Workshop

Hello, so I have written two posts on the Tech Needs Girls Workshop, building up to the main event. I wanted to write a post on the main event today, but yesterday, Regina Agyare wrote her own blog post on her site —-> here , and it is perfect. It is exactly what I wanted to write and since I just finished Uni, I still have some dubbing (copying) skills. So instead of writing mine, I have decided to copy hers (with permission). Check it out. On the 1st of June 2013, if you happened to be at the KNUST Campus , ...

My First Day At VOTO Mobile

Hello,  so I am a pending computer science graduate of KNUST at the moment and I am sharpening my skills and contributing what I can to build to the VOTO mobile platform (..well , I haven’t really done anything yet 🙂 ). I was really excited to start work at VOTO amidst being nervous and scared about not being able to deliver. This is going to be my first job and it will set a whole new world and path for me! VOTO provides easy-to-use online services that allow governments, NGOs, and businesses to directly connect with citizens, over their mobile phones, on a massive scale. We ...

Tech Needs Girls : Meeting Regina Agyare and Planning With The Mentors

Regina Agyare and I have been friends on facebook and twitter for about a year and phone and email friends for a month and half before meeting physically. I got really comfortable speaking with her on phone and had to remind myslef that we hadn’t actually met yet, so I had to behave, lol. So, on the 29th of May, 2013, she came to Kumasi so we could finalize everything for the Tech Needs Girls Workshop. This of course was going to be my first organized and inspired event. I was excited about that. She arrived at around 9am and ...

Tech Needs Girls : The Begining!

How did this even happen? Well back in 2012, Regina Agyare posted something on the Ghana Developers Google groups and I complained about such programs always being in Accra and never held in Kumasi, so females over there do not have the same opportunities as those in Accra (don’t even get me started on the Northern part of Ghana). Well, I guess my concern was heard, my friend and mate Charisma Naa-Achere Buxton replied and supported what I said. Ato Ulzen-Appiah and Bobby Okine (co-founder of mfriday) told me to organize one in Kumasi, and they will fully support me. ...
